Old Durbar Reserve is crafted from a unique blend of 8-year-old Scotch malt and English grain spirit, mixed with pristine Himalayan spring water. The malt is first aged for eight years in traditional American oak ex-bourbon barrels in Scotland to develop its signature mellowness and vanilla spiciness. The blend is then finished for several months in European oak Oloroso sherry barrels in Nepal, which infuses the whisky with rich fruity and honeyed depths and complex aromatics.
